Cosmos sulphureus, Sulphur Cosmos - Sunset, bright orange

Sunset produces bright orange flowers very attractive to bees.

The plant is tolerant to drought after germination.

Flowering is best in full sun, although partial shade is tolerated.

Sow March in a greenhouse. The seed usually germinates in 7-21 days at 20 - 25°c. When they are large enough to handle, prick the seedlings out into individual pots and plant them out in early summer. Especially in areas with hot summers, the seed can also be sown in situ in May.
